How to Make Eyes Appear Bigger

Enhancing your eyes to make them appear brighter and more alert can make a huge impact in how beautiful you appear overall. But how can you fake Bambi-eyes when you have dark circles, a dreary appearance, and major sleep issues? Grab your makeup bag. We questioned makeup artists Namrata Soni and Arti Nayar for their advice on how to speed up your morning beauty regimen.

Using cosmetics to draw attention to particular features on the face is entertaining. Chiseled cheekbones can be achieved with a contouring stroke. Lips can quickly become perfectly full by slightly overlining them. Additionally, there are makeup techniques you can apply if you want to make your eyes look wider and more open. Although it may seem impossible, there are quick and simple ways to instantly make your eyes appear wider that can be incorporated into your daily makeup routine.

Here are a few makeup tricks recommended by pros that will help you look as open and bright-eyed as possible. Doe eyes, you're approaching.

1. Put a highlighter on your brow bone.

The brow bones and eyebrows can be used to help you get the desired look. One method, according to Dickson, is to highlight the brow bone with highlighter. She like using simple tools to contour the area behind the brows, such as the ICONIC LONDON Glaze Crayons.

2. Mix your eyebrow and eyeshadow together.

According to makeup artist Lennie Billy, "my go-to trick to make eyes appear wider is taking eyeshadow very close to the brow." Especially if you have hooded eyes, this provides the appearance that your lid space is larger and opens the eyes more.

3. Make use of illuminating eyeshadow hues

SpeZking of eyeshadow, the colours you choose can significantly affect how open and bright your eyes appear. Billy advises utilising light to medium tone shadows to make your eyes appear more open when choosing makeup colours.

• Subtle hues

• Pale shimmery tones

• Shades of light brown

Look for an eyeshadow palette that includes variants of the aforementioned hues for a variety of eye-opening eyeshadow alternatives. The COMPLEX CULTURE Full Time Eyeshadow Palette has a fantastic selection of shimmery, light-reflecting neutrals for a dewy, doe-eyed appearance.

4. Make Your Waterline Brighter

Dark brown or black eyeliner tightlining the eyes is fantastic for adding drama, but it may also make your eyes look smaller. Try replacing dark eyeliner with white or neutral eyeliner, such as the TARTE Fake Awake Eye Highlight, for an eye-opening effect. Billy claims that for wider-looking eyes, she adores drawing a nude eye pencil along the upper and lower waterlines.

5. Brighten the Eyes' Inner Corners

To restore light to the eyes, Billy advises using a trace of shimmer or a light matte colour to the brow bone and inner corners. Whether you're wearing a neutral eye makeup or a smokey eye, it's important to add a tiny bit of an illuminating colour to make the eyes stand out.
To apply makeup to the inside corners of your eyes quickly and efficiently, try using an eyeshadow stick with brightening shimmer, such as the BEAUTY FOR REAL Shadow STX 24-7. To achieve the similar result, you can also lightly brush on a highlighter like the OFRA COSMETICS Highlighter in Blissful.

6. Form Your Eyebrows

A small amount of brow shaping can have a significant impact. By forming an arch, you are effectively raising the eye area's ceiling, making it appear larger and more open. Try laminating brows or use a brow gel to keep your brow hairs raised throughout the day to further open up the area via the brows.

7. Shape and Curl Your Eyelashes

This incredibly easy step can actually make a huge difference. Lashes that are straight can obscure the eyes. The eye area will be immediately made more open by curling the eyelashes. To further curl and define the lashes along both your upper and lower lash lines, proceed with a curling mascara, such as the BENEFIT COSMETICS Roller Lash Mascara. The M.A.C. Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara is another favourite of Dickson's.

8. Only use false eyelashes on the corners of your eyes.

This tip will make eyes appear more open, says GlamCandy UK makeup artist and educator Alice Dickson. Just be careful to just add them to the outer corners (you may even put them to the top and bottom of the lashes, if you like!).

9. Use Under-Eye Concealer to conceal dark circles.

Your eye region may appear smaller overall if you have dark circles that resemble a shadow. Use a brightening concealer under the eyes to balance out the skin tone and help the entire eye area look lighter and more lighted.
Pro tip: To create a "triangle of light" underneath the eyes, try putting concealer in the shape of an inverted triangle there.

10. Strategically create smoky eye looks

Smoky eyes may make your eyes appear smaller depending on how the makeup is applied, claims Billy. "I wouldn't say you can't wear a smoky eye if you have small eyes, but I would advise you to keep the most pigmented part of your eyeshadow lower on your lid and blend it very well from the middle up, so it looks more like a gradient and less like a huge saturated patch of colour," the expert advised.

Billy normally steers clear of using black to create a smokey eye on smaller eyes, but if you're into it, she advises using dark browns or even grey to tone down the intensity of the black shadow.Additionally, to prevent making the eyes appear smaller, draw the waterline with a dark brown pencil rather than a black one.

11. Steer clear of heavy eyeliner.

If you want to create an eye-opening makeup look, you might not end up doing any favours by applying eyeliner in thick, Amy Winehouse-style strokes. Instead, use a sharpened pencil eye pencil or a fine-tipped liquid liner to create ultra-thin eyeliner lines that will let those bright, luminous eyeshadow colours show.

A precision liner, such as the ILLAMASQUA Liquid Eyeliner, is ideal for drawing in fine details or giving eyes a pop.

12.Begin with skincare

The appropriate skincare products can help you achieve brighter eyes even before you start your makeup regimen. Find an eye cream or under-eye patches that reduce puffiness, moisturise, and lighten dark circles.

One of our favourite eye care products for bright, awakened eyes is the TULA SKINCARE Eye Feel Amazing Cooling & Brightening Hydrogel Eye Mask. Before you put on a drop of foundation, the under-eye patches combine probiotic extracts, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and green coffee caffeine to hydrate, depuff, and wake up the entire eye area.
